Forgotten Kevin Costner Movie Tarantino Calls a "Masterpiece"

- Tarantino called it a masterpiece. Spielberg bankrolled it. Warner Bros. buried it. And when it finally hit theaters, it made less than a hundred grand. This is the Kevin Costner movie Hollywood tried to erase.

Still to this day it’s one of my favorite Costner movies !!!
Fandango is a great film. All of the actors as well as the soundtrack work so well together.
I've seen a bunch of movies ..got a ton of DVDS to ..I had a vcr phase to .. but I totally missed this movie .
@@redskywalker3374 Check it out if you can.
Fandango is a touching, beautiful film. Kinda sad in that this is the end of innocence.
I'd watch it again.
Brilliant movie. Back in the day (early 90’s) it took four or video rental stores before me and girlfriend could find it (Toronto, Canada). It was worth it! Thanks for the video.
Fandango is great. We watched it all the time when I was in college and in my early 20s and we even had a backyard screening of it a couple years ago for about 20 people as well.
Everyone should see Fandango. And go get The Dom.
I was just a kid and was lucky enough to see this in the theater. Always one of my favorites.
I remember watching on HBO when HBO only had one freaking channel. Love the soundtrack.
Same place I discovered it. I loved watching this with my Dad.
I knew it was Fandango from the thumbnail.
Dom awaits.
A Perfect World is my personal top favorite Costner film - THEN Fandango - and lastly, No Way Out.
Saw Fandango on BBC in 1989… hadn’t even heard of the film. My flat mates and I loved it
A Perfect World is what first came to mind but this is a nice surprise.
same!
Water World is criminally underrated, and so is Cutthroat Island, though it doesnt involve Costner. Two huge big fun underrated fioms.
Both were incredibly expensive to make and both flopped hard at the box office. I remember when Waterworld was being filmed they kept talking about how much money it cost to make. By the time the movie came out that's all anyone was talking about. I'll watch whenever it's on just to see the sails go up on his boat. Criminal that they only showed it once.
"We gotta dig up Dom"
Last ride of the Groovers.
I saw it. Fantastic movie. I wish Hollywood could remember how to make a good character driven, well written movie without CGI and spandex superheroes and a 300 million dollar bloated budget.
I love Fandango. I usually watch it a few times a year.
It is a great movie ... at any budget. The soundtrack is amazing .... Elton John, Pat Metheny (the Wedding scene .... brings a tear to my eye). The movie had everything. It was funny - that pilot was hilarious. It was sad/melancholy/sentimental .... it was just a great movie. Highly recommend it. 2 thumbs up.
Its one of my favorite movies of all time. The scene in the graveyard is just perfect.
This is a great movie. A and E used to play it all the time.
Yes!! I thought it was Fandango just by the title! But I have to say it -- throughout his career I considered Costner the one from Fandango. It's why I was a big fan of his in the 80's. The guy from Fandango was getting it done. I think I'll watch Fandango now with that goofy pilot with laundry in the parachute bags. Haven't seen it in at least 30 years.
I’ve loved Fandango since the first time I saw it and think of it often as my favorite movie and like Tarantino I am not over it also.
For some reason I was convinced it was going to be The Postman.
I liked The Postman and Waterworld. Sorry, not sorry. lol
My guess would have been Robin Hood because of the accent.
Me too but I haven't seen The Postman. I have it on VHS & DVD I think, in my Blockbuster video store I built in my garage.
Is it good? Should I finally watch it?
I thought it was going to be "The Big Chill" with Costner as "the body."
The reason Tom Petty became famous was his role in the Postman, otherwise no one would have heard about him.
The "Truman Sparks" wacky character really made the movie for me as a teenager.
I remember watching this movie when it was released to cable decades ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it was. Just taking the ride to go see "Dom".
Those were the days of these quirky movies. I love it too. Just as much as I love MOTORAMA lmao
"Fandango" (1985)? Nope, never heard of it.
If you like or love Costner films you'll enjoy this flick!
My favorite movie of all time. But then, I'm from Tx.
The first movie that came to mind for me was Open Range which I think is amazing. I haven't watched Fandango in years, but I remember liking it. Not as much as QT but still good.
This money was filmed in Sierra Blanca, Van Horn and San Elizario Texas. 50-80 miles east from El Paso.
one of my favorite movies.
Fandango!!!!!
I love that movie
Rented this as soon as it came out on video.Great film
Got to see it someday⚛️
My wife walked down the isle to the wedding scene music by pat matheney, farmers trust my favorite movie of all time
If you haven't seen it, watch his Count of Monte Cristo - it really is as good as his Robin Hood.
I am a zoomer who grew up with it on vhs and always thought it was big movie
It’s the same plot as THE HANGOVER
Loved this film.
Only Costner movie I ever really liked!
1:29 “Warner BRAHDAS”
This channel would be better if you did your own voiceover instead of using AI voice
nope it was Revenge by tony Scott ... get ya facts right
I really liked it a lot
Fandango is a great movie
*"Fandango"*
Thought it was 3000 miles to Graceland!
Omg me too! No other needs said..
It was a Good movie.
The premise sounds a lot like Breaking Away.
Also the start of Deer Hunter and a touch of Big Wednesday
Silverado was better.
Both the movie and director are overrated. Kevin Reynolds had one great directorial feature and that was “The Count of Monte Cristo” (2002).
