Overview looking at the main key features of the Denon DN-S3700 digital media player and it's 9 inch direct drive platter with true vinyl emulation and scratch performance...
I know Im late to the game, but after years DJing with vinyl, trying out DJ software programs and controllers - I finally realized I cant stand interfacing with the computer - so I picked up a pair of these second hand - and lets just say I'm in heaven. With CDs and USbs, you basically have two decks in 1. Great stuff
BPMgear is spot on. Denon goes all the way back to the turn of the nineteenth to twentith century. They are about 125 years old. They created audiophilia gear for radio stations for decades and were one of the first if not the first to create and mass produce the compact disc player. Pioneer is good, but Denon has had a number of audiophilia first. When I am ready to spin and play cdjs, I am definitely going with Denon. Although clubs prefer Pioneer, I am partial to Denon.
@BPMgear Fair point,Denon having been making Audiophile hifi equipment for yonks and have, the same as Pioneer, turned there hand to DJ equipment, they have just as much standing and there is no reason why the gear will be any less if not better or worse than Pioneers. I had Pioneer CDJ800s but they died and I ditched them and just kept my DJM800 and Stanton STR8150 decks,am now looking at a set of Denons, have known of them for a few years but this the first time I checked some demos, look sweet!
Daaaaamn! He makes this Craaaazy drop And he keeps focused doing those dope scratches Like " yeah, drops like these... piece of a cake" I would go Maaaad :D Big Respect For Him
seems like a good gear, so, Denon guys, please name at least five popular dj's or performers that use your equipment. I've been looking you tube for a long time and all i've seen are pioneer cdj's in all of them. Not saying that you are bad, just want to see your products on massive events, not just clubs and houses. Hope to get an awnser soon, thank you!
@BPMgear You're dead on about the features, Pioneer has always been slightly behind the game in terms of feature availability on its players, but the reason Pioneer has become the industry standard in spite of this is due to their number one feature: Incredbile quality and reliability. That's why the command such a high price. Their players and mixers are designed and built to withstand the test of time, and endless amounts of abuse.
@inthemix03 Dude seriously...who cares if popular djs use them on tour. What matters is that these decks are AMAZING! The build, the quality, and stability makes it a excelent player. I know cuz i own a pair. So take my advice and try them out yourself and like I said you wont regret it.
Just so everyone is aware, I've used this for the last 2 years they've worked well BUT!.... If you start having Disc Errors with the CD assembly and cleaning it with a Laser Cleaner does not work.. Your laser mechanism will have to been changed out, I just received a call from the Electronics Repair Shop and it's gonna cost me 300 bucks.. I wished Denon would have come up with a way to use Timecode from a flash drive because no one uses cds anymore and this is a hassle with them...
are all these song browsing functions and keyboard attachment functions the same on the sc3900 and 2900? there's no overview video like this for them that explains that (I've been trying to find even text explaining this everywhere to no avail!)
if Denon want to sell loads of these i suggest hooking a deal up with clubs to supply them with equipment & letting the dj's sell it for them by using it, Trust me
Doesnt the 3700 have the hybrid firmware and the time codec signal inside the 3700(2.0/2.5khz)? I know the 3900 has the new 2.5 signal. If the 3700 does have it, you wouldnt need the time coded cd.
well one thing denon has that pioneer doesnt is, denon more affordable but to be honest, i think the pioneer decks r much more organized and less cluttered. but i had cdj800's now getting the kontrol s4 and a midi fighter so its either these or the 900 to work with traktor... but lol these i can get off ebay for liek 1200$ a PAIR of them. the 900's r gonna run me like 1800 lol soo im thinking im gonna go with these. its somthin different too :P its all personal preference tho guys so chil :P
@denondjtv im only a newbie at this stuff. but ive been interested in starting as a dj. can you give me any tips to what i would be looking for. im only 16.
@913SubZero First of all, i din't ask you, i said DENNON GUYS,the people that uploaded the video, second,im not asking them on a negative way, i said,NOT SAYING YOU ARE BAD and third, i ask them that because i want to see people actually taking the product on tour, not just keeping them on a steady place, and yes, a had a couple of cd players of this brand in the past, old model reliable as hell (just plain pitch, not even a sampler or adittional cue point) new one, let me way down being mobile.
@lilmanbhp... It cost's $2370 for a complete package which include's 2x denon dn-s 3700 and a denon mixer.. Lol dont know how much your house's are were you live but in australia thats not as much as it would cost to buy a house lmao
@DuDe1040 yeah sure...dude i have 16 years i hit local clubs my mom give me money for food school etc..and all money off dj-ing goes to me and i can afford them pretty easy...only unskilled dj use cdj
i agree with BPMgear. I started DJing in the mid 90's and all the clubs were using DN 2000 mk1. Industry standard is a joke. It's a gimick... The term "standard" is a set of guidelines for which is a minimum requirement for judgement. Pioneer should read the dictionary.
LoL Are They comparing those denons to the techz I have owned denon 3500/5000/3700.... they are good for mixing but they aint good for scratching and cuttin im not a fan boy but The Wheels Of Steel Are unbeatable i still have a pair of s3500 but i keep them on the loft
@inthemix03 So if popular dj's dont use them like tiesto or guetta your not gona buy them? Is that what your saying? Thats kinda dumb reasoning if you are. So what if popular djs dont use them. That shouldnt affect your decision in giving these decks a try. If you do you wont regret it.
@BPMgear I have been a DENON dj for a while now, and I think they are superior than the pioneers, and I cant stand proprietary software to "manage" my music.....I'm a fucking DJ, I "manage" my own music... ya feel me? but yeah did u know the cdj1000 won't even play MP3's????? MUSIC BOX sucks as bad as Itunes also....

That's it for me still in 2025...

Pioneer should read the dictionary.
